Your Home Move is here to make your next home move as simple and painless as possible. I'm a home move specialist and can help co-ordinate your entire move from start to finish or take on specific aspects of it - whatever you need.

No two home moves are the same, and each one will have its fair share of challenges. But after 15 years in the business there's very little I haven't seen or done. So I tailor each and every move to the individual, managing each step and keeping you informed of progress as we go.

I break up the move into manageable tasks, taking the time to explain each aspect, dealing with any questions or concerns you might have with patience, integrity and professionalism.

I know how emotional it can be for you to move out of your home, often leaving behind a lifetime of memories. I provide an extra pair of hands, a sounding board for ideas, or just a shoulder to cry on - sometimes literally! - when you need it most. My job is to relieve the stress of the moving process, dishing out hugs, reassurance, and as many cups of tea as it takes to keep the tensions at bay!

Hi, I'm Suzanne Trisk and Your Home Move is my company.

I set up Your Home Move because, having moved six times in 20 years, I am all too aware of the trauma that moving house can cause.

But it was the upheaval and sheer organisational skills required for packing up and resettling with such regularity that made me realise that having the emotional support to alleviate the stress is just as important (sometimes more so) as getting help with the practicalities.

My clients become my family because they know I will go above and beyond for them. I am discreet, sensitive, kind and fun. There are a lot of laughs as well as tears along the way, as moving house stirs up a whole lot of memories. I have been called an angel, superwoman and a fairy godmother, and one client now calls me her goddaughter!

I absolutely love my job and to me it is much more than ticking items off a checklist and making sure that every task gets done on time. Each move is totally different, even if some of the standard elements are the same, because individuals react to situations differently and circumstances vary. So I make sure I’m on hand to answer questions, keep you updated on what’s happening, and deal with all the tiny little details that can sometimes get overlooked.

Moving home can feel overwhelming, it needs a pragmatic approach and a “can do” attitude if it’s going to go smoothly. So having had all that practice, and wanting to put it to good use, Your Home Move was born in 2016.

Moving home can be a challenge at any age, so my services are designed for anyone who needs help, whether you’re short on time, or just need someone with experience to help get everything organised. I specialise in helping people who are downsizing, usually those who are elderly, or suddenly on their own due to bereavement, separation or divorce. Downsizing often involves sorting through a lifetime of memories, but I will help you with those difficult decisions about what to keep and what to let go of.

Does Your Home Move provide packing supplies?

Although we can buy packing materials on your behalf, we do suggest using a removal company for the move to ensure all your possessions are wrapped safely and correctly.

How far in advance should I book Your Home Move for my move?

We recommend booking Your Home Move as soon as possible to ensure availability on your desired moving date. However, we understand that sometimes moves are last-minute, so we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Does Your Home Move offer storage solutions?

No we do not have a storage facility, but we can help you find a solution that meets your needs as well as your budget.

What can you do to help as I am really stressed about moving?

We save time and alleviate worry. We work with individuals who are daunted by the thought of moving house and worried about all the work that needs to be done including how they are going to manage to sort through years of sentimental possessions they have accumulated. To alleviate the stress and reassure our clients, we systematically plan everything that needs to be done in order to meet the necessary time frames and we do all the practical and physical work ourselves. We save time and worry to ensure the move goes smoothly.

How does your service work?

We can help with as much or as little as you need us to when it comes to your house move. Our service is tailor-made, so give us a call or drop us an email and then we will arrange a free, no obligation visit where we can discuss your requirements in detail and describe exactly what we can do to help you save time and eliminate the stress of moving home.

Can you help my parents as I live too far away to help them?

Yes absolutely. We can help with as much or as little of the moving process that needs to be done from putting a property on the market, finding a new home, sorting personal possessions, secure shredding of confidential paperwork and change of address admin to packing and unpacking – and everything in between! They will be in safe hands with us. We will keep you updated along the way and include you in key decisions that need to be made so that your anxiety levels at not being able to help are eliminated.

What age of people do you help?

We help people of any age move to a new house. There is no minimum or maximum age, although we often find that our services particularly benefit the elderly and those looking for senior living options.

Can you help me sell my house and find a new one?

Yes, we can help you put your property on the market. We can arrange Estate Agent valuations to help you decide who to sell your home with. We will also sit down with you and discuss what your requirements are, then search for places for you to visit. This could be if you are relocating, downsizing, moving into a rented property or into a care home or sheltered accommodation. And don’t worry, if your requirements change along the way, we are flexible and can adapt the search at any time.

I have already found a place to live, can you still help me?

Yes, Most of our clients get in touch at this stage. We can help you go through your sentimental items including possessions and photographs, take things to charity or auction for you, help you work out what will fit into your new home and dispose of anything that won’t. We can also contact the utilities and other businesses to tell them of your change of address.

My neighbours do not have any family, but desperately need to move, can you help them?

Yes, we often have clients who do not have any friends or family to help them (or their families are too far away or too busy to help with everything that needs to be done). We are happy to help them from start to finish during the move; even finding them a solicitor, financial advisor, taking them to viewings and buying things they need on their behalf. We can do everything.

Can you help me if I am not moving, but need help decluttering and organising my paperwork?

Yes, we offer an ad hoc decluttering and sorting service where we can help you organise a room or an entire house or flat. We can arrange clearance of unwanted items and secure shredding of confidential paperwork such as bank statements if they are no longer needed.
